The KINGART Mixed Media Gel Stick Crayons are a set of 48 water-soluble pigment sticks in a storage case. The sticks are soft and creamy, somewhere between an oil pastel and a crayon. They lay down opaque color when used dry. Brushing water over the marks thins the color into a translucent wash, so a single stick can work as both a drawing tool and a watercolor.
The set includes 36 standard colors and 12 metallics: gold, silver, and ten metallic shades. The opaque pigment shows up well on black and dark papers, where standard crayons and colored pencils fade out. The sticks work on paper, canvas, wood, chipboard, and journal pages, and they can be blended with a finger, a brush, or a damp cloth.
